 Why sell on eBay instead of Etsy?

There are many reasons for selling on eBay :

Fairness : I previously had a situation where two people wanted the same painting. As I only produce originals and not prints it meant that one person had to miss out based on who I had chosen to sell it to. The decision I had to make was to sell it to the first person who showed interest. I didn’t feel good about disappointing someone so I thought a bidding system would be better as the person who wants it the most gets the artwork.

Costs : As the proceeds from my art go to charity I didn’t want to incur the higher costs of Etsy.

Postage : Selling internationally is easy with eBay due to their Global Shipping Programme which keeps things simple and allows me to focus on producing art.

Why don’t you have a proper website ?

Paying for hosting, templates and design elements etc all costs money and that means less will go to charity.
